With an expanding luxury glamping business, Carolyn and her partner were looking to raise funds for a second site that would potentially double their turnover. Trying to raise money in the current climate without giving away any equity was going to be a challenge until a recommendation led them to us.
Having owned a business for a long time, Managing Director, Debbie understood the dynamic nature of an entrepreneurial business and the need to change and shift quickly. With a network of experts and professionals on side, she introduced the Jollydays team to funders and clients in related fields. Full of life and fresh ideas, Debbie was expressed onto the company board and now acts as a non-executive Finance Director.
Jollydays then got the call to go on BBC’s Dragon’s Den, the show aired on 9th February 2014, and although the Dragon’s loved the new venture funding was not secured. Since filming we’ve worked hard on their expansion plans, and they have since secured funding from an alternative source. In 2014 they opened the North Star Club, a super swanky woodland glamping site in the Yorkshire Wolds. Their latest amazing project is The Northwood Trail – England’s first fairy sanctuary and fairy museum, opening up the magic of the woods and nature to a wider audience.
